i want to change the background to somewhat different than white, it's so bright,
so I should look in some .css file, find the corresponding field, and edit the 6-bit color code .. that's what I get to know from the net,

but I don't know exactly which section should be edited and what's the value I should insert, for ex, if I want to change it to orange, how can I know the code for orange ?

In your templates folder,
css folder, in there, edit template_css.css ;

some templates also include a body style in their index.php,
anyway, the thing to set is
body {background-color: #000000;}
and you'll find the hex code for the color you want in
Photoshop, Dremaweaver, Fireworks, Flash etc with the color picker;
when you select a color from the table, it normally also displays the corresponding hex code.
