MOS 4.5 Two Questions

I had to take a break from my sad attempt at making a component. Sooooo

I worked on my template a bit. I have a question.
There is a string printed on my Category pages that looks like this.
<< Start < Previous 1 Next > End >>
It does nothing if you click on it.
I searched the site and found a Java scrip in pagenavigation.php.
but it wont work.
I dont really need it, how would one disable it or remove it from the template?

It does do something if you have enough content to need 2 pages to list it

You could always hack it so that the page navigation doesn't show up for the first however many content items though.

Whatevery the dropdown box is set at. By default it is set to 10 items, click on it to change the number of viewable items and it changes the threshold of the pagenavigation bar.

I've hacked it so it does not show when inactive.
All I had to do was comment out the lines in the code that related to when the item count is below the threshold number.
All i did was comment out 4 lines of code (line 111, 112, 130, 131), though you might have to play with the spacing abit.
