Talking Free Templates (honnest!)

Ok now I got your attention

I’m in the middle of setting up a templates site based around Mambo and a few other CMS systems, looking for some comments for you guys and gals.

We are doing well so far, we have the dedicated server and the site setup but we have two major points we want to work on.

The site is based around the idea of "free" and "premium" templates. Our first concern is will anybody be bothered to submit there free templates (and will they be any good!).

The Second issue is the premium templates, how to charge for them? Obviously we would like to be in on the $$ Would a %, set amount or maybe even something different be preferable?

Are *you* actually offering any free templates?

I think your first concern should not be whether anyone could be "bothered" to submit free templates, but whether you are capable of producing free templates yourself.

Besides, GPL templates are freely distributable, there's nothing stopping you from downloading every template from MamboHut.com for download on your site.

I'm not sure how honest it is to have the title of this message, offer no free templates of your own, and then make a statement about whether anyone could be "bothered" to submit their templates.

Cheers,

Damian

You mean, there aren't *any* Mambo *templates* right now ;P

Except for the Templatastic site template, which looks good anyway

Cheers,

Damian
