Default hiding the right column in a template

Im not sure what the proper name is for them but im talking about the windows where you put the modules.

On the frontpage there is the left right user1 user2 banner insert windows etc. What i want to do is when using simpleforum i want dont want the right hand window there so the board stretches out.

For example the difference between the frontpage at mamboportal and
mambo portals download section. Im sure its piss easy but i cant work out
where i can set these things.

cheers

Some templates automatically 'hide' columns that are unused. In other words, if you publish your 'right' modules to every page except for 'SimpleBoard', the right column will disappear when you follow the link to SimpleBoard. If you are not using a template that supports this, it is fairly simple to modify your template to do so. What template and version of MOS are you using?

You have option when adding under menu. It ask you how to put as mambo component or etc. You should choose as URL link you can choose how it will open it,as parent window with browser, new window with browser, new window without browser

Thanks for the quick reply,

Im using grey signal which doesnt seem to be a particularly robust template
I removed all the modules and it partialy disappears i get an image error
which isnt acceptable and the simpleboard doesnt stretch out to fill its place.

I feel this greysignal template needs a complete reworking, if only i knew what
i was doing.

It would be nice if people could add comments in the download area of mambo portal and not just rate it.

Are you using the template out of the box, or have you modified it?

Yes, I was able to make the right column disappear. If you email me your index.php file from the template, I can modify it for you, or I can post the code here.

Too large to post text...

Rename attached file to index.php and copy over old (using rename option), or just open it in text editor and copy/paste.
