Well, finally
my first mambo template release!
It's a mambo 1.0.9 version of the
Spread Firefox community site. A mate wanted a similar design, so we figured why not create a "fan template" as well to spread the word of Firefox.
There is a hardcoded "module" that shows in realtime the number of Firefox downloads, a customised pathway to mimic the look of the SF breadcrumbs, and a module hack that allows for rounded corner modules.
The Spread Firefox site has bright green modules on the right, I've added to that with three more block colours taken from the SF site and a mambo orange one as well. It also has individual module styling (seperate from the rounded corner modules) to allow for the look of the left column modules and the login box. These hacks should not interfere with current 1.0.9 templates or modules.
All info on installing and even customising this template for your own uses is contained in a help file linked from the template info page. I've done a bit of tinkering on the template XML fields as well, which I'm not sure has actually been done before.
I've started a project on Mamboforge to host this template, as well as be a space for the development of Mambo add-ons such as a module that allows easy insertion of FF button/banner linkage and Firefox extensions.
If there are any dedicated Firefox & Mambo users out there, that have any experience in creating Firefox extensions, you're welcome to join the project as I think there could be much potential in Mambo Firefox extensions such as a toolbar.
Anyway, enough rambling, get the release from the project homepage:
Mambo Spread Firefox
And remember,
GET FIREFOX AND TAKE BACK THE WEB!!!
Cheers,
Damian
