Default Best method of displaying Static Pages

OK --

Just wanted to see what the veterans out might be able to suggest...

I'm putting together my start-up site and it is going to involve a series of static and active data pages and I'm playing with the my site to try to identify the 'right' way to do this effectively ...

What have others seen/done or can suggest that has worked effectively for them - using Content Sections? using Wrapper? - any suggestions or thoughts would be very helpful...

In the Admin Backend

Click Site -> Menu Manager -> Main Menu -> New button

Select Typed Content

This opens a page with the wysiwyg editor. Simply type in your static test
Click Save button
Ensure the page is Published in the Main Menu, and you now have a static content page.

For more useful information download and read the Official Mambo 4.5 Manual.

I can vouch that this seems to be the best method so far for static pages.

Thanks - this is what I've been doing, but I wasn't sure if there was a better way ... I appreciate the feedback (and the spelling correction...)

you can also create an <iframe> inside of an article and display that way or you can load up jason's wrapper and display static html pages with navigation that way as well.

I prefer to use typed content to avoid using an iframe, but it goes to show how flexible Mambo is. I haven't tried this, but you could probably even include an existing page by naming it *.php and using the mambot for including php in your content.

Default [Q] Content for a static page?

G'Day,

I want to construct an "About Us" page. Essentially just some RAW HTML that is hardly ever going to change. What is the bext way to do this in Mambo?

Just create a menu item of 'typed content' kind, and then enter whatever you want. There is a problem with 4.5 that it will slap the print&pdf&email icon and author and date to the typed content even though you probably don't want it on static pages such is "About Us"....I have used customizer bot to get rid of those, but it still sucks. I'd like to know if there is a better solution to this.

1. Where can I find the customiser bot?
2. I would also like to know if there is a better solution (ie getting rid of the icon, author etc.)

TIA

1. Look in the bot section at mamboportal.

2. You can turn all that off globally in the global configuration section of admin, but customizer bot is very nice for turning stuff on and off at individual content. I don't know of any better solution.
