AkoGallery XTD Released

Hi Everybody,

Not sure if there are some similar ones, but for a project I needed to extended Akogallery and here is the work done for everybody to use it freely.

You can download it from the download section of my site under open source section and please use the forums there to report your bugs or anything else.

List of features:

User Front-end & Control Panel
• Upload Picture (Gif, JPG, PNG)
• Add Picture
• Edit Picture
• Delete Picture
• Category restricted upload (defined by admin)
• Administrator approval (auto or manual via backend)
• Community Builder Profile view (comments, owner,…)
• User submission message to admin (backend message)
• Send2friend feature (email)

Category
• Unlimited nested category and subcategories
• Access control for Directories (Registered, Special)
• Description and intro image

Administrator Backend
• Batch upload (Brandon Kerns)
• Full image administration : approve, publish, …
• Sort by : Category, type of upload (admin, user)
• Category administration
• Admin configuration

Miscellaneous
• Several bug corrections
• Mambo 4.5.1a and 4.5.0.9 support

Danial, this is such a great news, after my post today in TOTW about better integration of all the user profiles in various components, that I have bought your PM component as a small "thank you"..

People, if you run a community-based website, you can now integrate, with the help of Community Builder:
*extended user profiles with custom tabs and picture, and custom userlists
*who's online with link to this profile and link to
*private messaging
*user picture galleries
*share the profile with the upcoming version of Simpleboard forum!

Now that is what I call Open Source COMMUNITY !!

Missing feature, requested in my "Hooks" post on the official Wishlist at Mamboserver: clickable author-names in Mambo core under articles, linked with all this (if any of you want to hack this..?), and user home pages also linked..?

Hm, well, I didn't know that people are in need of such a piece till I read your posts in the forum, TOTW. I was thinking that after Gallery there is no need for my XTD code even, then, you see

Well, I didnt understand what you mean but let me clear this.

Akogallery is original work of arthur and I am not in need of having my name there or akogallery as my new component. he is free to use all the fucntions there as every body and I will be happy even, as I have used his code before
(if he needs).. till his new component will be out I will support this and then It will be down my friend.

Well, I saw your post after I posted above.

First of all, I am not taking future developement of Akogallery, I do not need it.
- I had developed a code and I felt that people need it, so I released it.

- Name extended was to distinguish between the normal akogallery and the extended one (two links there), I am not going to develope a userlist extended kind of component.

- Your software is under GPL license, and as long as your copyright notices are left in the code I have the right to use it anyway I like, as long as I am not denying you are the original author of the code, which I didnt, eventhough ethical is to talk to you before, which I apologized for that, but I don't need to.

- The download section is down because I decided to be down, and you dont have any right to force me do anything as long as I am in the circle of law.

I will remove any lines of my name in the code and send the code to you. You decide what to do with it.

And please people do not make another war.

Not sure what to say about the above. I think many users would have like to see and updated AKO Gallery with the features you described. I though Aurthor had pretty much abandoned it's developement due to the availability of other gallery softwares. Anyway, I'd like to thank both of you for your awesome contributions to the Mambo community!!!
