Bridge to oscommerce?
While mambo-phpshop is really good, and works well, there are many important features which are still only available in oscommerce.
Several attempts at making an oscommerce component in mambo have failed so far. It sounds like it might be trying to boil the ocean. Several new attempts have recently been launched, but it will probably be months before we see anything come of them (wishing them lots of success...).
However, has anyone tried a much simpler, doable approach, ie. simply making a bridge from mambo to oscommerce so at least the user does not have to log-in twice?
You can configure oscommerce to look to look as close as possible to your mambo site (header, colors, font type/style/size, etc.). You would have a different admin backend for each of course, but that is not the end of the world, especially if you need some of the functionality in oscommerce.
Has anyone heard of a simple bridge like this ? (I looked in both the mambo and oscommerce forums and couldn't find any reference to one). I am not an expert in php so will not attempt it. If someone wants to try though, ... well I think he will become very popular, very fast.
