Default Making right side modules only show up on main page?

Is it possible to make the right side modules only show up on the main page (home)? So like if someone clicks on a link like lets say forums all the modules on the left stay but the right ones go away so the forums can consume the entire right area? Then when they click on home the right modules come back. Thanks in advance for any help!

Using the module manager in admin, adjust the settings of all the right modules to show only on the pages you want them to. If you don't want them to show on the forum or events pages...select all but those pages. Or, just set them to show on the home page. You have complete control. Most templates are designed to collapse the right side column if there are not modules showing...but if not, the modification can be done easily. Post back with any problems.

Hi, When you say most templates do you mean the standard ones that come with Mambo? I make my own templates and I don't know how to collapse the right side. Could you elaborate or show an example of how to achieve this?

Thanks in advance.

Thumbs up Re: Making right side modules only show up on main page?

You can do this:

PHP Code:
<?php
if($option=="com_frontpage"){ ?>

HERE THE TABLES WITH RIGHT MODULES

<?php }?>
I hope this can help you.

This applies to any area of your template...for any module placeholder:

<?php if (mosCountModules( "right" )) { ?>
<TD>
<?php mosLoadModules ( 'right' ); ?>
</TD>
<?php } ?>

No need to look at the Butterfly template, I've put the code in my post here: How can i use the full area of my page?

I think we're all talking about the same thing. I am going to try TWYSM's solution... it's easier to read.
