perhaps due to my installation of mambo being

www.foobar.com/mambo

screw the permissions (777 or 707) of the mosce directeries back to 755
this should solve your problem and the image manager and the rest should work like a charm

Afraid not, had the same errors with htmlarea. The perms are there. htmlarea people thought it was cuz my mambo installation was in a subdir?

look a bit further, also the submaps of it must be permission of 755!
all directorys in mosce especcially those in plugins directory
