Question Why does Mambweather show night icons in day?

Hi,
I have mambweather installed and working nicely but I am trying to figure out why it shows night icons in the day? The report time says 14:00, is it based on this? It appears no mater what time zone I give it it always shows night icons. Mambo451a & mambweather 181.

Does anyone have any clues?

Lets see if we can sort this one out Andrew. I'm in Australia and no matter what combination of mambo locale time and mambweather offset time I have set (I have tried many different combos) it is always moon at day and sun at night.

I suspect there is some kind of hard coding occurring somewhere that forces this to occurr. Always appears perfectly in tune with US night and day. If it's within Mambweather, then we can patch it but if it's in the weather feeds then we would have to wait for a fix or a new release...

If you find the way please post back...

Anyone have any clues?

cheers

On my site you can download the Dynaweather Module. I had tons of trouble with mambo weather. I think it was written for 4.5 and 4.5.1.

Nice one Dr J, but it doesn't work for international locations. Mamweather is a nice full-featured working mdule for my needs - just need to reverse its' moon/sun phase...

I think I have found the solution. digby007. we have to set the locale in the global config of the mambo admin. i have set mine to en_SG for singapore and it works fine after that.

cheers. (:

once you are in the Parameter section just put in the correct Metar Stations, which you can find here http://www.met.sjsu.edu/ncwfc/stations.txt , and the description. Then you should set the correct offset timezone. If not it will think it is nightime all the time. Hope this helps.

My Mambo is hosted in USA but I live in Australia.... I have Mambo Time offset set correctly and Mambo is responding with correct time and date and also set "country locale" to "en_AU" for australia. I have gone into Mambweather parameters and set the "Metar Stations" so it is correctly reading out my local weather. I have set the "Local time offset to UTC:" in Mamb weather to "9", which is correct for Australia where i am and is indicated as correct when I view the report times. All setup and all works fine - except the damn moon showing in day and sun at night. No matter what I tweak, this occurs.

EXCEPT IF....

BUT, now my "hacked" solution: in file "metar.class.php", line: 857 read:
" if (($regs[2] < 6) || ($regs[2] > 18)) "
I simply reversed its' check to:
" if (($regs[2] > 6) || ($regs[2] < 18)) " ha ha, if you can't beat 'em join 'em - now mambweather displays the moon and sun correctly!!!

Hope this helps someone else to get it displaying correctly as it really is pretty cool....
