Default Dtree Module -> how to Manually Install

Any help is much appreciated!
Server does not have Zlib installed on another site (K23 Productions )I'm helping with so I've tried FTP'ing the files to the right locations using the xml file layout to see if it would "show up".
I've tried using install from directory preserving the original zip file contents and structure. Both calling the xml file and without calling the file. Ending slash and no ending slash.
Tried calling from ....../aministrator/mod_dtreemenu
and creating my own install from location. Plus many other tweaks in file calls etc....
I couldn't find anywhere the module calls MYsql to create tables either.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

I'm a little confused with your query.

Please allow me to clarify, you have uploaded the files manually to proper directories? Or did you just upload the entire zip/folder into one place..?

If you do it manually, you will also need to manually insert relevant data into mos_components/mos_modules table.

I've done both.
Using the xml file as a guide I placed the proper files into their respective directories.
I also matched the folder/file permissions witht the rest of the installed modules as 707.

I also tried unzipping the entire zip contents to an "install" folder I created under administrator called "to_install" then pointed to that folder in the "Install from directory" dialog at the bottom of the modules install/remove page.
It's entirely possible that the module requires entries in the sql tables but I have no clue what they are.
Thanks
