Default Integrated Forum

Maybe this is in the works...
Maybe it's already been said here...

If so, my apologies. I began using Mambo not long ago and have found it to be an incredible CMS, easy-to-learn, easy-to-use, and with tons of support available in the community of Mambers...

The only difficult thing for me has been trying to find a forum component that is relatively full-featured, customizable, mostly bug-free and fully integrated with the Mambo system (logins, etc.)

There are some great options out there, but my experiences so far have left me a bit uncomfortable in trusting these to handle a very lively site.

What I'd like to see in 5.0 is a fully integrated, stable forum component.

(by the way, when is 5.0 scheduled to be released)?

there are some reasons why a message board isnt included. the core team felt that they wanted to concentrate only on the backbone of the system and leave the other functions to others to program. Also this means the download of Mambo doesnt become bogged down with sections that users might or might not need. Lastly, the best message boards out there now would be rather hard to duplicate. It would be much easier to link these into mambo, and there are current projects under way to do just that. Building a top notch message board system from scratch would be a waste of the core team's time.

the first betas of 5.0 will probably come out in july or august
