+++ NO SPAMBO - Mambo Against Spam! +++

Every day, billions of spam emails are send ot to the modern internet society to press any thinkable kind of elctronical smut into our brains.

Everybody knows from what I'm speaking of:

Penis Enlargement Pills, Weight Loss Products, Porn, Online Casino and so on...

I really would like to wish the mambo core to be modified and upgraded in this way, that every emailadress, anywhere on the site, is encrypted by a script which can be turned on and off in the Global Configuration of Mambo.

It would be perfect with an open interface , so 3rd party components like especially guestbooks for example, can use this functionallity, too.

A good solution would it be too, if the common WYSIWYG Editors like HTMLAREA, FCKEDITOR would support this encoding directly. So would it be really nice, if HTMLAREA 3 XTD could get this "Insert Encoded Email" feature.

Nice idea, Maybe a mambot could be coded to auto insert ~ No spam ~ into email addresses on the site

Too bad i don't have the knowledge to support it developing, but i really support it. With us having a site with 600 members, it would be great to "protect" the e-mail adressess.

Just joking. That is a very original idea. I like it. In fact, that is totally possible using a mambot. And with 4.5.1 now have mambots within the admin panel. Running a mambot is even easier.

A mambot can run through the database and remove all the <a> tags that have an email address within it.

Well, that is just my 2 cents. Hope that someone else would come up with a brilliant idea that makes this possible.

I really would like to have a mambot that could do this for 4.5.1a. There is a modified version out of mosantispamemail, but it didnt work with my new 4.5.1a installation.

I think it would be nice to have that in the Global-Configuration, because many people dont know every mambot and what nice things you can do with mambots.
My idea was just, if this can be found in global configuration, much more people will use it! And that really would be an important step into a spamfree future, I think its time to do something effective against the worldwide spam problem.
Globally seen, it costs so much time, just think how many people use the internet and email, and you can calculate with millions of hours every day which get lost absolutely senseless.
I think it does much more economic damage than we all think of it.

And it really sucks to be discriminated as a stupid fat sex machine that needs viagra, weight reduction and of course some happy pills in order not to agitate too much about the friendly email gifts sent day after day again...

Wouldnt be that difficult.

I have already created a function in mambo.php called emailCloaking - which is based on mosantispamemail - that hides the email in the contact page from spambots.

PHP Code:

On a side not, could you please reduce the the size of your signature in forum.mamboserver.com, its very obtrusive and dsitracting.
The irony of it is that it is a bit like spam - unsolicited advertising

it does encrypt the users email row in your mos_users table
