I'm looking to try out the new 4.6 release and wonder if you could help me in getting it. I'm just starting a fresh site and it would be good to start with 4.6.

Mambo 4.6 is not yet available for download. However, the unfinished development copy is available via CVS. If your are a Windows user, the easiest way to get a CVS copy of MOS 4.6 is to download TortoiseCVS from tortoisecvs.org. There is also a Mac utiltity, MacCVS from maccvs.org, but I am not a Mac user so I can't offer input on that.
The settings for TortoiseCVS are:
Protocol: password server (pserver)
Server: cvs.sourceforge.net
Port: 2401
Repository folder: /cvsroot/mambo
Username: anonymous
Module: MamboOS
To download the 4.6 CVS, right-click in any folder and choose CVS Checkout. Enter the settings above, and click OK. A folder named MamboOS will be created containing Mambo 4.6.
Please remember, this is a development copy and not yet ready for release. In other words, the software is not finished. It may contain bugs, features that aren't yet implemented, or features not yet complete. Do not install it on a production server. Use it only for testing and to explore features.
The first beta release of 4.6 is scheduled to come out sometime this month. As a beta release, it may also contain bugs. It should not be used on a production server. Only releases announced as stable should be used on a production server.
