Flame migration from local to remote server

Hi,
Sorry for the beginner question... I have just installed Mambo on local (with EasyPHP) and I am already working on my site! So... I haven't got any web space for the moment, is it possible to move later to the remote server without loosing all the work done? How? Thanks.

Lorenzo

Yes, it's very well possible, all you have to do is back up your database, and ones you do that and when you get your host, just make a Mysql database and load the file that you backed up in there thorugh phpmyadmin.

You will then need to upload and set everything up correctly inc onfiguration.php abd set the permissions (IF using Linux Host) and you are good to go.

Hi,
I am a starter too. I am using MSAS to develop and Test the site. I have a remote server with MAMBO4.5 installed. Now question is how to transfer updations created on local to the remote server.

That is quite easy,

First go into adminstration section in your localhost and backup the databse
System -> Database -> Backup

Back up everything in an SQL Text file.

Then go to your online host, go into administration section
System -> Database -> Restore

Pick the one that you at your computer and everything is set.

Then go to Site -> template manager and upload your template .zip file.
The site should be working by now.

If you have changed something in the footer.php or other thing, you would have to upload them manually using any FTP client (e.g Filezilla)
