Talking Admin menu not display - themeoffice error [solved]

Sorry for my translation French > English (assisted by google)

I have a problem with the admin menu which does not display after upload of the local site to the server.
Same as other persons of this forum,

I had no this problem with my first 2 sites.
They are last version, (4.5 109) and work fine on-line with the same procedure of installation:

Local site OK on Windows XP with easyPHP – And, after, upload to the server (linux)

Path and dir are Ok
I have no problems of firewall (I remind that I see the menu of the first 2 sites)

But in this third site, which is a copy of the second, no admin menu,
I also have the same error in the homepage if I have a template with a menu (js themeoffice)( Error in theme.js detected by script mode of IE)

I tried to make a direct install of 109 > Ok

But my site is more complete and I do not too much want to reinstall everything, especially if I do not know where from comes the problem.
I tried to de-install components, without result.

Other persons had this problem but I did not find solution on this forum.

Thank you for your help

Finally I resolved my problem!

My local site worked, I copied out at first the file includes / js
But without result.

Then in one second time I copied out the same file as I set on a mambo 4.5-1.0.9.zip

And miracle!

Nevertheless I verified files was identical

But it is the result which counts

Winni,

Can you describe again in detail which files your think were the cause of your missing admin menu?

I, too, believe the missing admin menu to be related to javascript but cannot diagnose the cause on my site.

EDITTED -- UPDATE

My missing Administrator menu problem is solved - I did not have a fresh version of the Includes > js folder. This solved the problem.

I suspect the file is: Includes > js > mambojavascript.js .

It is very simple, I resolved my problem in the following way:

I have a site which works well in local (Windows EasyPHP)
I copied this on-line site to the server (Linux) and I had lost the admin menu.

In the first time, I copied out the dir (and files) " include / js " of my local site to the server, but it was the similar. Not good !

After I repaired by copying out the same dir and files " include / js " which I took in an archives mambo4.5-1.0.9.zip
And it is Ok!

I did not understand why, but that works !

Otherwise for the other case particular, I found this information in the file "Mamsite Tripack" on Mosforge:

"This hack was prepared to avoid a problem experienced by a few users who for
could not get the Admin menu to appear after the hack was installed. In some cases,
the problem was the existance or non existance of the mos_help table. In other cases,
this was not the case. We believe that these latter case are caused by a caching
problem because it usually disappears when a server is rebooted or the cache is
cleared. The problem occurs if a Mambo installation is installed and loaded before
applying the hack files. For some reason, the Admin menus is not displayed until all
cached files are deleted."

Bonne chance ŕ tous !

I too am suffering this problem. The Admin section works fine and I can access all the pages by manually entering the correct URL but I don't have the admin menu.

I've tried uploading the includes/js directory from a clean Mambo 4.5.0 packge - no good. I've tried copying the local includes/js from my functioing local server - no good.

This is my 3rd Mambo site and I've never encountered the problem before!

Does anyone have any idea how I can restore the menu? Any help much appreciated

I'm still struggling to fix this on my site. It's been three weeks. Tried everything in the forums. Reuploaded the whole admin dir. Still not showing up.

This fix also works with later version.

Menu was missing from 4.5.2.3 so I copied the \includes\js\*.js from a site that does work. Sorted
