Update Task 4.5 Stable 1.0.4 to 1.0.7

Hi Guys,

is this a Update Horror!?

What is the right way to Update my 1.0.4 to 1.0.7?

Is there no sql db change?
Only over copy the MOS core files!?

No DB changes just copy over.

I just did in 5 mins without any pbs (so far

)
I first used the v104 => 105 patch,
then 105 => 107 patch and all's fine!
Just a few files to overwrite, really takes only a few min's
(on cable that is...) and everything looks just the same except,
version info in admin now says 107

look in the various upgrade forums for these patches, don't remeber where I got them, but I could mail them to you..

I did a staight copy over and now I get the following on the front page. It seems every time I upgrade, I have this problem. Is my ftp causing me problems or is there something else I'm missing?

It could be that the ftp mangled some files, or you missed a few files during upload, or possibly that the file rights on some of the files/folders are wrong so PHP isn't allowed to read them...

Try uploading everything once more making sure you get all the files (except the installation folder, htaccess.txt and configuration.php-dist), then go over and make shure all the file/folder rights are correctly set.

And use the files from the full 1.0.7 release. It is possible that some of all the home-made patch-packages floating around have missed some files. It could also be a potential security risk since it would be dead easy to slip in some malicious code into such a patch.

and what about the safe mode patch?
simply install it again after patched to 107?

As far as I know, there has not been any release of a 1.0.7 compatible SafeModePatch yet. I think it would have been of some value if you had mentioned that you used the SafeModePatch in your first post...

i'll wait, till the safe mode patch is campatible with 107.

What I meant was that you should have told in your first post that you use the SafeModePatch, becouse then you would have been told that you would have to wait until a 1.0.7 compatible SafeModePatch. You would also still had a functioning webpage...
