Flame Strange installation problem!

Hy guys,

I have a somewhat serious problem.

When I install mambo portal on my host (everything goes as planned according to the installer) and try to access the front page, I see something which only resembles a theme.

At the same moment I noticed that Internet Explorer is blocking quite a lot of CSS and .js files. I deleted all cookies and history, even reuploaded and reinstalled mambo, and yet I have this very same problem!

I have a working Mambo version on my computer, no problems there.

I tried using Gayle's "fault" script, but the only problem it comes up with is wrong absolute path. Funny enough, the new reccomended absolute path is absolutely the same, as the one in config.php. Maybe this is the actual problem?

I would be glad to receive any help/opinions.

Thanks in advance!

As far as I know, there are two main reasons for images and css not to load:

Incorrect permissions or incorrect absolute path.

If the path seems correct, make sure the permissions are right for the templates folder, and be sure to set them recursively (that is, set the permissions for all files and folders under the templates directory).

Ok, I will try to chmod them, thanks.

What about absolute path, is there a way to be certain what it is?

Dear Mamber,

You started this thread in the Mambo 5.0 forum. This version is not out yet and the forum is only used to discuss this upcoming version. Your problem is not particularly about this upcomming version of Mambo but about something regarding a former version. Therefore this should be posted in another forum. This way other mambers can respond faster to your questions/remarks.
I moved it for you, please post in the appropriate forum next time, you will get faster and better answers there!

Regards,

Regenerate
