Default Session save path Not set, Unwriteable Warning during Install

Howdy,
While running the web based configuration, the Pre-installation phase reports that the Session Save Path is not set, unwriteable. I have used grep to find Session and Save Path and can not find any config file containing a Session Save Path variable. All of the other settings and checks were good, so I went ahead and continued through the configuration. I proceeded through all of the remaining screens and sucessfully configured Mambo. After config, I checked the site as a normal user. Everything appeared to work. I then went to login as an administrator and the login failed with the following: "Fatal error: Call to undefined function: session_name() in /srv/www/htdocs/mambo/administrator/index.php on line 63"
Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Thanks

System - Suse 9.1(2.6.4-54.5)- - Apache 2 - PHP 4.3.4 - mysql 4.0.18

Hi,

Suse 9.1 comes with session support disabled. You have to install
php4-session package from your CD/DVD.
When done check with "php -m" if "session" is listed.
Restart Apache as root with "rcapache2 restart"
Everything should work fine now.

A little hint: Use Firefox for Mambo Administration Menu, it won´t work properly with Konqueror
