Default HtmlArea with Opera and Plugin

Hi,

after two days of trying to intall an working alternative Editor for mamboGTT.de zu installieren, I've got it now.
One condition was, the editor should work together with Opera

Like you know, we can't use format capabilities of the us known editors with Opera. That's because has no interface like Midas. But there exist a cool trick to let it work regardless.

MeadCo's Neptune Plugin - The Trick
With this plugin, you can show an embedded IE Window inside of Opera.

HtmlArea3 XTD-C - The Editor

Since Version 3 of HtmlArea, Opera has problems to load the editor. If you set the editor in Global Configurations and you klick on save, the Admin Panel won't be loaded anymore. Novocaine told me to take a look a the developers site of htmlarea interactivetools.com, so I took a look on their forums. Ther they knew about the Opera load Problems and they had posted an workaround. So at least I was able to install htmlarea3 and load it. Even if I couldn't see the format icons in Opera.

The Result
I've made the changes told in the workaround and after trying a bit it worked. It was easier than expected.

Loading of the Plugin
Code:
<embed type="application/x-meadco-neptune-ax"
  pluginspage="http://www.meadroid.com/neptune/download/"
  width="100%" height="100%"
  param-location="http://www.mambogtt.de/mambo/index.php">
</embed>
I've done an separate index2.html, where I load the plugin and get transfered to mambogtt.de.

One Row to change in the Editor
You've got to comment one row in file htmlarea.js or htmlarea_xtd.js (here on row 77). Additionaly to say, I have used the Mac Patch, that's just this file.Maybe It works without the patch.
Before:
PHP Code:
head.appendChild(script);
After:
PHP Code:
// head.appendChild(script);
I've been in contact with novocaine, so I think there will be an extra Opera patch.

That's all. There are no garanties and no money back.

regards

Default Re: HtmlArea mit Opera und Plugin

Hey this is awesome news, i have been trying to find a free opensource editor for Opera for a couple of days now, and haven't found anything except a few commercial editors...

I think having support for Opera would be great since it's a pretty good browser to my opinion
