Sorry, wrong file. Check administrator/components/com_config/admin.config.php, lines 26, 69, and 174-175.

Default 4.6 will be xMambo -- Re: Mambo 4.6 / 5?

"3) Within the next few days there will be complete xHTML/CSS compliance. The work found in xMambo will be in 4.6."

I really dont understand the development- and news-politics of mambo...
One the one hand I am glad to see the new version xhtml+css-based. On the other hand I am unhappy since I just did all that hard coding-work to make xmambo realy easy to handle...

Hi guys,

I'm new to Mambo. I've just started messing around with Mambo 4.5 locally getting ready for a revamp of http://www.no-eff-eks.com. As soon as I tried to get a mainly CSS template going I ran to the xMambo website to see what they had to offer. Installed that locally and liked what I saw. In doing some reading today I found this thread which now has me wondering about where I should start.

1. How XHTML/CSS compliant is 4.6 so far? Would it be stupid to attempt to start developing on cvs snapshots at this point? It seems alright (gave it a little whirl the other day just to see) but I just took a quick look. I don't mind if it's broken here or there while I'm developing. I'll probably do worse to it anyways.

2. Assuming there is an xMambo 4.6, will I worse off going to 5.0 from xM-4.6 rather than M-4.6? It seems 5.0 is going to be different enough that it might not matter which I use now.

3. Should the fact that there even just *might* be an xM-4.6 be enough of a hint for me to just stick with xM-4.5 for now?

Any input you guys have would be greatly appreciated.

Lastly, to any Mambo/xMambo devs here Thank You! You've done a wonderful job on these projects, and chosen a good license to release them under as well.

Hi sjs,

last news I know is, that 4.6 will include the xMambo-Changes.

Meaning: You should wait for 4.6 and maybe meanwhile trie to play around with xMambo to get a bit used to it.

btw: I had to do some changes to xMambo to make it really CSS-Ready...

Alright, thanks Tobias. I guess I could familiarize myself with the API and get more core functionality going and worry about the final template later. Thanks for the advice. (Not to mention the quick response)

Seems like I'm going to enjoy being a part of the Mambo community as well.
