Adding a DHTML Menu into a Template

I have coded a dhtml menu. When I insert it into a new php page it shows up but when I insert it into the template page it doesn't show. Has anyone got experince with dhtml and php. I have hard coded the links into the dhtml menu because they won't change.

Is the DHTML menu self contained, and inserted directly into your temlate, or is your template calling external files? If it's calling external files, make sure you're referencing them in the right directory, ie:

<?php echo $mosConfig_live_site;?>/templates/name_of_your_template/

First off, I tried inserting the dhtml code directly. But no luck. I then tried calling it as a seperate file. No luck either. I am trying to insert it into the peeklime template. I want to insert it right at the top.
