| Mambelfish problem Hello,
I am using Mambo 4.5 - 1.0.9 and have installed Mambel Fish 1.1.1 and then copied the 1.0.9 patch files. I have uploaded one more language (in language manager) and published the mambelfish component on the frontend.
Now, here is my problem: although the links generated by the mambelfish component seem to be ok (a variable named "lang" appears in the link), the page displayed is still in english. On the other hand, if I go to language manager and publish the other language I had uploaded, the static elements change to this one. So it seems the language file is ok and accesible but it is not accesed by the mambelfish component.
The filename (in the mambelfish configuration) is that php file without the extension (english for English language and romana for Romanian language).
If anyone knows the answer to my problem, please help!
Thank you,
Ciprian. |

| Re: Mambelfish problem FIRSTof all, remember, MambelFish won't translate your content! It is just the framework, so you can translate it and publish itin different languages!!
If you are bad in translating, just look up in the internet there are many free translation tools. The are not flawless, but you can work on with the translations and correct them.
For Mambelfish to work you have to set up mambelfish:
first of all, you have to make language entries in the mambelfish component -> component configuration
make one for english one for romanian
aktivate both
give the proper ISO, so date etc. can be set to the right setting
give the name of the uploaded language file
give an image (flag etc.) you want to have displayed on frontend for choosing language
After that you have to translate your content
mambelfish will sort the existing content to the standard language of your side
go to the mambelfish ->translation page
choose content, edit it, put in an translation and set up in wich language the translation is made. |

i have translated several menu items, but they stay in english all the time. neither the dynamic content nore the static text changes. |

| Re: Mambelfish problem Well, nothing I have tried so far worked so I decided to look a little in the patch files. It seems the patch files I have for 1.0.9 are not complete. This is the reason for which the translations don't appear.
So, if anyone has ever managed to install mambel fish on mambo 4.5 1.0.9, please let me know where I could get the good patch files from.
Thank you ! |

| Re: Mambelfish problem If you only used the 1.0.9 patch, it won't work (I think). I just tried it, and it won't work for me.
I made a patch combined with the 1.0.7 and 1.0.9, that works to get mambelfish running, but there was some change in some parameter from 1.0.7 -> 1.0.9 so the permissions don't work anymore. You can't log and view the things only for registered users. I'll try to solve this... |

| Re: Mambelfish problem You need both the 1.0.7 Mambelfish core patch and the 1.0.9 Mambelfish core patch.
Be sure to apply this Mambelfish core patches only on fresh 4.5 (1.0.9) installations.
Upgraded Mambo versions from 1.0.8 etc. will have problems cause of the changed parameter.
That should work. I just tried it on my own page and its working for me.
I put the combined patch of 1.0.7 and 1.0.9 in my downloadsection. |
