problem with htmlarea2 and uploading images

I use htmlarea2 as an editor. My users (Publishers) should have the opportunity to upload images from there harddrivers. but when I want to upload an image the alert "can't create foo.jpg file" shows up. this happens with any upload folder even the the CHMODS are set to 777.

uploading the image with the mediamanager works fine, but I need a solution for my users to insert images directly into their articles.

What Mambo version are you using? As there have been security issues with htmlarea2 (more precisely with the image manager, as it was accessible to all users) there has been a fix which may isn't correctly implemented yet.

I had the same prob before I upgradet
from MAMBO 4.5.1.0.3 to 4.5.1.0.7
and now everithing is ok
