I was wondering if there is a way to let a registered user contact all other registered users at once.

Newsletter components let only certain people send a mass mailing.

I can have userlist available to registered users, where individual e-mail addresses will be displayed.

But it won't let me do what I need: have a registered user contact all others from a single form.
Any ideas?

Some type of listserv or newsgroup may be suitable for what you want to do, but I don't recall hearing of anything like that being available as a mambo component. I don't know if the list-messenger component Phil Taylor is working on will do that or not, but you can check it out at http://phil-taylor.com.

In the case that it should not be only email, You may use MyPMS Pro, Private Messaging System. It allows users to send each other bulk messages (can be turned off in the backend). Currently it is being used in some company websites that have two level users, normal & paid. So paid members are allowed to send all the users bulk message which is helpful for e.g. resellers, distributors,... the allowed group can be assigned from the backend too.

It is only e-mail. A listserv or newsgroup for all the registered users. The same function as option=com_massmail ouf of the admin area, in particular "All User Groups". Except not limit it only to admins.

Our site is a community one, where members exchange (not only receive, this can be done through massmail or one of the newsletter components ) information regularly.

Sounds like you are trying to do something similar to me. I found your post the other day, and think I may have come up with a solution that will work for me....though it will obviously depend on the size of your group. It seems if you create a contact with the address
name1@domain1.com,name2@domain2.com,...e4@domain4.com

etc. the message will go to all users. Not sure how many you can put in one address. Also, it appears that ; as the delimiter did NOT work while using a comma works (and by the time it gets to my email client it turns into a semi-colon...?). Anyway, a possible solution for you.

Never mind. I was only able to fit about 4 addresses before I reached whatever string limit exists. Oh well...

Well, it could work. Except I wanted it to be accessed by registered users only. I want the standard Contact form be available to everyone. But I'd don't want an unregistered user contacting something like 80 people with some spam, or general idiocy, or a prank.

The solution I've come up with is to use a mosforms component. It's still bulky, and requires manual entering of each e-mail address into one field, but it can be done. Plus it can be restricted to registered users only.

The only thing I haven't figured out yet is the problem with spamassasin flagging mail sent using forms as spam. I think I've read something about it somewhere.
