Arrow Convert my site to MAMBO

This is my first post, so I hope it’s in the right forum ,etc.

I’ve recently found MAMBO and I fell for it instantly. I really like it and all the components. I’ve been looking around at different CMS´ for about a year now (E107, EZ Publish, Typo3, PHP Nuke, etc) and finally I found one that I like and seems to fill the needs.
I’ve set up a test server fro my self to play around and test it to see if mambo will work for my site.

My question is how do I convert my existing site consisting of HTML pages to MAMBO the fastest/easiest way?
My site is now made up of 100-150 HTML pages, 90% of them use the same template.
Is it possible to have "item templates" so I can create items faster in the HTMLArea?

The site is about Swedish Armed Forces' Equipment, weapons and vehicles.
Each item, ie a Main battle tank, has it’s own page which is filled with facts, some text, thumbnail pictures linked to large pictures and some links to references.

Have a look at SoldF.com
The site is only available in Swedish, but I think you get the picture.

When starting with MAMBO it was easy to make the Content structure in "Content" with different categories. But when viewing as User I’d don’t like the "List view" of items in each category. Is it possible to change that view into I.e. thumbnail pictures with item title and not the list with "Date - writer - title - hits" ?

I have not seen a site similar to mine in mambo, if you have; please provide a link so I can have a sneak peek.

Thanks for the help!

Just create a menu-entry type "blog-section" or "blog-category". It will create intro-text with picture (if there is one) just like on the frontpage (but only one column)
