There is NO NEED TO repost the questions.. grrrr There are MANY posts in the forums allready answered, so why don't you just search first..

The sourcecode for Mambo 4.5 (1.0.7) can be found here: http://mosforge.net/frs/?group_id=5

There are also the updates/patches (securitypatch 1.0.8).

Hi diego,
As an additional thought, IF (and maybe I read too much into your post) you haven't made a webpage before and aren't familiar with html, then you may want to either:
(1) start off by creating a static website via Dreamweaver, Frontpage or a program like that.
(2) enlist the aid of a knowledgable friend to help you install & setup Mambo on your web server.
But if I misread your skill level, by all means, go for it! Mambo is GREAT, but sometimes you have to tweak it to make it do what you want (hence, the need for some basic knowledge.)

You are right! I was just tired.

TIP: We could start collecting the rtfm and faq questions/answers to one sticky forum area. It would help people in the first step.

It's OK! I understand. I just feel that as a community, we need to embrace these kinds of questions, regardless of where or how often they show up on the message boards. They indicate that Mambo is still attracting new users, and the more new users that start using Mambo, the better. That means more minds contributing to the flow of ideas, and more motivation for developers to continue creating great components, modules, templates, mambots (mosbots), and of course the core of Mambo.

Let's not become one of those communities that is too good, too smart, or just too busy to answer what we feel are trivial or redundant questions with utmost kindness and respect. After all, without less-than-computer-genius level people using Mambo, there wouldn't be much of a market for it, would there?

I think you guys get alot of these questions because things aren't linearly displayed...most people are used to the linear display used by google and can't really go much further than that.

Take heart though...there are those of us that rtfm...(downloaded the actual manual about 5 min ago) and I plan on READING that BEFORE posting any of my questions. I think though that mambo could really benefit from organizing things just a wee bit. I downloaded the source and wasn't even sure I was actually downloading the source because nothing told me that it was the right thing to download. I can see the confusion new users would have.

Hey TKS used to be different until they felt it needed updateing which was good. but like you said they need to organize it some. the programers of mambo a great at writeing this stuff but very lousy at writeing a install/help info. I think thats one reason why they get soo many ? on things because alot of it isnt very clear.Oh dont get me wrong once you get the hang of it you start to see how it all comes toghter and bam your up and running before you know it.
