Default Client Nude Kodak Easyshare Photos not recognizable by Photoshop or RSGallery

I have a client who is a photographer and I built a website for him to showcase his photography. This is stupid-easy stuff. I installed RSGallery and I've used it before so I know it works just fine.

The problem I'm facing right now is that he is sending me photos to put on the website using this Kodak Easyshare software and when I save the photos, the file type is not recognizable by any applications. I can't open them in Photoshop.

I found that if I forwarded the emails to my hotmail account, save them as bitmap images, then I could get them into Photoshop, resize them and save them as jpeg images.

So then I upload them thru the Mambo RSGallery admin. Everything uploaded with no problem. But if you go to this gallery from the website, you see the red X... in that I suppose it either can't find the images or it cannot recognize them or create thumbnails... I dunno.

I've already created galleries for him and they are working fine, but the new ones are being a pain in the ***.

I appreciate anyone who can assist. I can provide a link to the site if needed.

View the source of the page and see where index.php is looking for the images...then make sure the images are in the required directory using ftp. If they are not there....check settings in RS Gallery.

The actual photos are in the correct folder, but the thumbs were not created during the upload. So the actual pictures are displaying but there are no thumbnail images to represent them.

I took his original images and resized them and saved them to new image files from photoshop. I don't know why the gallery component isn't creating the thumbnails.

I gotta Kodak too,
tell your client to get rid of EasyShit and install
Photoshop Album instead, much better and imports just as well
(just not from the dock, have to plug in the cam to the usb).

How is he sending you the photos btw? can't he save them, zip, and send?

He's sending the photos directly from the Easyshare software. The logo is at the bottom of each email.

I just used rsGallery to delete those images, then I renamed them on my local machine, re-uploaded them thru rsGallery. I can see them via FTP but no thumbs were created. Here is the weird part: These files have the permissions set to 666 and the normal images are at 644. When I try to chmod the evil images, I get 'permission denied'.

This is irritating the hell out of me. I don't have time to screw around with this and of course my client doesn't think it's his crap software. He thinks it's the gallery program.

This is the most freaky thing I've ever seen. RSGallery will not upload these photos. I installed AkoGallery and it wouldn't upload the photos - even from my own machine. Photoshop couldn't recognize the images.

I even tried to upload some images that were just standard stock photos from my own collection and neither gallery would upload those either.

He was getting aggravated so I decided to try a whole different application.

I installed Coppermine and just put a url link to it from the base website.
Now he's complaining because it's too complicated and he can't figure out how to use it. He's accustomed to using these amateur programs that give him one-button choices so he doesn't have to think about anything.

This coppermine gallery is the easiest program to use. You login, click the link to upload a picture, select a category, browse for the image and then click the upload button. How difficult is that??

He keeps emailing me saying he's spent hours stumbling around trying to figure it out.

What would anyone else do in this situation?

Why would two mambo photogalleries suddenly be unable to upload photos?

Why is the sky blue?

Forward me one of the emails with the easy share attachment so I can play with it...two heads always better than one.

Received 2...converted 1 to both .jpg and .png and sent it back. Any luck?
