Default Adding a Calender to Mambo...I am so frustrated ..please help!

Hi everyone

I recently installed Mambo and it looks so good. I appreciate it's a free product so documentation isn't always what it should be but I am utterly frustrated. I think the problem is that when you're new there are no simple tutorials for certain things. I have spent the whole day on Google trying to find a tutorial!

I am trying to add a simple calender facility to Mambo. I

I installed both the Events Calender and Events Calender module from Mamboforge but I have no idea how to get the actual calender displaying on the front page. I've done what I can ( Set up a category in the events calender module and I've 'published' it + set up an event in the calender ) - but I still can't see how to add this calender as a menu item or how to get it to display anywhere!

I also tried another calender module on Mamboforge but had the same problem - there are no instructions anywhere how to install these things so for the beginner it's really confusing. The Mambo Source Forge site is very confusing indeed. I was looking for a tab like ' manual' or 'readme' or 'installation instructions' - I can't find anything!

Can anyone shed any light on my problem? I would be very grateful - it's bound to be something simple I've not done.

Thank you

HI again
It's typical you spend all day trying to solve something, request help and then you solve it suddenly.....

What I did to overcome this (for the benefit of anyone else trying to install a calender into Mambo)...is that you have to go to Main Menu and add an extra main menu item and you must add a 'Component' ( not a Component Link or anything like that - just a 'Component'). You should then see the 'Event' calender component in a list and you can choose it and you will now see a new menu item - when you click on it up pops the calender. In hindsight it's logical enough but it took a lot of guesswork for me to get there!

I spent all day searching forums endlessley........if you are having problems everyone keep plugging away and if you find the answer do share it on the forums because you might save a fellow Mambo user a whole day of frustration!

Event Calender is "3rd Party element",and the documentation should be done by producer.
Mambo documentation you find HERE .

Make calender visible. Open events module (in admin backend) and check these (see in attach events.jpg).
