<?php echo _ISO; ?>

Is the line of code or similar that will print that out.

Make sure that you have not inadvertantly 'broken out' of tag mode as the above line will just print the value of the string to the browser which is what you are seeing.

It is normally seen like this in most template files:

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; <?php echo _ISO; ?>" />

So check that against what you have and I am sure you will find the error!

the code is located /temlplates/yourcurrenttemplate/index.php

the line should look like this:

Code:
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; <?php echo _ISO; ?>" />

What mrjinx is saying is that what you are seeing is generated automatically by php using the <?php echo _ISO; ?> command. It puts the
"charset=iso-8859-1" in your web page in the header of your page right after the <title> tag.

If you want to remove it, open the index.php file that is located in your current template file and remove the code:

<?php echo _ISO; ?>

That should remove it from your page.

Yup, deleting code often removes the problem... but... are you sure you want to delete it? You have just removed a useful piece of information for the browser... it *could* cause you problems if the default character encoding is not the same as that one...

I'd say better to fix the busted tag... how about you paste us up the code, a few lines either side of it will do and then I will try to fix it for you so that the encoding stays put but doesn't show up in your browser.

Thank you, i would appreciate it if you can help me fix it. I was wondering when you pull up my page if it loads correctly? I was wondering if you get any error messages.
