Default linking direct from main menu to main body

I'd like to have a link in the main menu which displays some text in the main body. I do not want any CMS added stuff though. No date etc.

I've tried setting up a new section category and also tried setting up text but I cannot get what I want. 2 questions:

How can I link directly to an item from the main menu without having to click through all the sections and categories?

How could I insert a link in the main menu, which when clicked, will display a paragraph of text in the main body, and absolutely nothing else, no date, no CMS header, nothing just 100% my text?

Download and install the customizerbot, then build your static page directly form the main menu manager using new>typed.

The easiest way is to temporarily install the section and navigate to the content item. Then copy the url from your address bar and paste it into a URL type menu link. This will load the content item directly. Note that you can do something similar to display sections and category content multiple times. The same is true of components.

The advice on customizerbot works fine to selectively disabling the various configuration flags for content. It would be nice if those flags were moved into the content items themselves and could be used to selectively override the global settings in Global Configuration (configuration.php).

Your suggestion works fine but i still have this infuriating "written by administrator" line at the top of the page.

How can I get rid of it??

I installed customizerBOT, clicked on patch, everything seemingly worked fine. But where do the options for customization appear. I cannot see them in my administrator menu's anywhere?

There should be a readme file in the actual archive file. Check there first. There is a support thread for customizerbot on mamboserver.com.

Mosbots are inserted into content either manually or via a editor toolbar button. Follow the instructions in the readme file. If there is no readme file, check the support thread.

Some of the editors, such as htmlarea3_xtd, have some mosbots available on the toolbar.

Actually I have installed a component called staticxt which helps me do what i wanted to do. I'll try and figure out what is going on with the customizerBOT cause it could be useful later on.

thanks

Mike

When you edit content in the FRONTEND you can see it

Also you can hide these options y GENERAL CONFIGUATION in the BACKEND only putting NO to the display of what you want or not

See if these help you.
