Default Can I assign News Items to multiple categories?

Is there a way to assign news items to multiple categories, so that they show up in more than one category menu?

Errgh... I doubt you can do that as far as I know unless you copy the same news to different categories. There's no cross cat linking in Mambo.. yet.

I may be wrong about this though...

No your correct VD, not possible in 4.5 unless you copy content into the different categories, but hten strictly speaking you have two different items (with exactly the same content) in two different categories. which is not eactly the same as one item being associated with two categories.

However it is on the roadmap for 5.0 anf has been confirmed by the devs:

What about this workaround?

Could I copy the Related Items module and customize it in several instances to show only articles that meet a specified meta keyword?

Yes you can create multpile copies of this module, you can create multiple copies of any module.

Unfortunately, currently there is only one way to do this and involves playgin around in your database.

Read here for a howto:

Good news is I am working on a component that will allow you to do this through the Admin Backend
