Default Mambo on IIS & Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

after looking over the posts in the forum, I take it that .htaccess is something for apache and IIS has no idea what it is or what to do with it. Does anyone have any suggestions for including search engine friendly urls while running mambo under iis?

Thanks

Beyond the SEF feature, Mambo in general will not run on IIS. Look at the requirements:

http://www.mamboserver.com/content/M...or_MOS_4.5%3F/

You'll need to run the Apache web server for Windows. (It's free, like Mambo)

Not true. Mambo runs on IIS, see this thread on mamboserver.

However, mod_rewrite is an Apache feature, I am not familiar with IIS enough to know if it has a similar feature.

Edit: Google says this might help.

Edit2: Ok, this might be more helpful.

Yikes. I stand corrected. Though, I gotta say, I'd be cautious about running a production site on it until the developers formally say it's a supported platform.

It would appear that it may be possible to run SEF URLs on an IIS server.

Take a look at http://withoutwires.ath.cx/The_Exper...ambo_Stuff/41/

I haven’t tried it yet though, so I can’t confirm it’s working.
