I have a number of modules (some core modules, some menus built with the mymenu component) which are set to "special" access level, as they contain stuff that only the admins and editors should use. I have no problems with these when logged in as a super administrator or publisher, but logged in as an admin or manager gives me nothing.
I thought at first that this was the same problem discussed in
this thread, and I may in fact have been having some troubles with that issue that the fix shown there solved. However, I still cannot get these modules to load for an admin or manager.
I had assumed that having been assigned a backend usergroup would override the permissions for the front end. And I don't seem to be able to assign someone to both a frontend and backend user group. So how to I allow my managers to also be able to access these modules? Access to content seems to be fine. An admin or manager can get into the areas to edit content. But the menus I created specifically for this group to help them get in to edit stuff more easily are not showing up.
