Howdy folks!
I'm starting with a vision of what I'd like my poll to be like and I'd like to share my progress with you guys, to see if there may be simple answers out there...
Here are some general questions:
- How can I make a poll appear at the bottom of an expanded content item?
- How can I design one poll that allows for "voting" on a scale of 1-10 (like my regular Poll does); however, that same poll should ask questions with text responses (like my PollXT poll does).
- Users should be able to view just the 1-10 average, and they should also be able to read the responses to the questions
Here are the specifics related to my project, and I hope that others benefit from this as well. I'll certainly post about how I did what I did, when I get everything done. I'll definitely write some documentation and post that either here or on my site...
Here goes:
If you go here:
http://liquidenglish.dainis.net/liqu...ategory/33/55/ you'll see that I have a "Poll" and a "PollXT" in the left position (in the menu). I'd like the poll to appear at the bottom specific, expanded stories (eventually there will be multiple polls, each for a particular content item). Specifically, I'd like there to be a poll on the bottom of the page:
http://liquidenglish.dainis.net/liqu...tent/view/50// which is what you get when you expand the "Evaluate our English!" content item.
If you've visited the site, you'll see that one of the polls allows for voting. I'd like the 1-10 scale to be the first question in the poll, and then I'd like to ask a series of questions (some with text responses, others with drop down menus).
Users should be able to get to all the collected info: a specific person's vote along with that person's answers to the questions, and they should be able to see the 1-10 voting average.
OK. So, am I doing something that should be easy to install? Can Mambo's Poll or PollXT do this? Will I need to write code? I could go do a PHP tutorial and probably design a poll (all it is is 1-10, averaging, and a bunch of questions), but then I'd need to integrate that into Mambo (pretty clueless on that).
Looking for folks to point me in the right direction on this.
Sincerely,
Dainis
