Default Need a component for ratings...

hi all--

i was was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. i am looking for a component (or module) in which the users of my site, could rate things that aren't downloads or articles or anything like that. but they would be rating (& hopefully commenting on) local businesses, such as restaurants and plumbers etc. anyway i was wondering if there was a MOS component out there that could do this. it would also be nice if it could include a short description of each buisness -- and if they were broken up into categories.

hope one of you can help...

thanks.

i've seen add-ons that let folks rate news items, and even rate other users, i think... maybe one of these could work?

probably...Arthur is responsible for both mamboportal and the Ako line of components...its possible he hacked it a bit for his own site, but thats more or less what you get with akocomment

The rating settings are a part of the mambo core enable them in your general settings.

As you can tell I'm fairly new to MOS, anyway I was just wondering where exactly I would enable them...

In the Admin Backend

Site -> Global Configuration -> Content

Set Allow Item Rating to Yes

This activates rating of all of your news items

To have ratings only on selected items, go to mamboportal.com
and download the Customizerbot - read the instructions before using.
