Default A sticky news message on front page

Hi there!
I'd like to have news messages show up on front page, as it is now.
How can I make one of messages show up always and in the same place (as 1st news).

This would be an introduction (as the message "Welcome to the Mambo Server", just after installation). Other news messages would show up normally.

As for now, after I add a news a go into front page items and shuffle the introduction back on top..

Regards,
Dentharg

There's no "sticky to top" option for news items so far;
(feature request! feature request! -think i've requested this already..)
what you're doing is the only way;
what you could do is, if it's quite short, add it to the "lang" file where the intro
that shows up above as title for the news is defined..

Actually you could write a module containing your welcome article and publish it at module position "top", show on pages -> home.

Hope that helps

I would suggest writing a newsflash, even if that 'flash' then becomes a 'sticky flash'...

Create a new category under News (assuming News is the top of the order on what gets published on your home page)

Create an item in that category. That item will contain whatever you want to be sticky.

Publish the item in the new category and set its order to the top.

done deal

I believe someone over on the official forums suggested changing the publish date of the item you want to stick to be some time far in the future, and then going with the order by date feature.

or wasn't it using "-1" somewhere (ordering?) to have it show up first..?
