Default AkoGallery question?

Is there an option to upload more than one pic at the time??
Ok I know I can do it over FTP client but creating tumbnails is the bad part.
You have to go one by one make"new" photo "select" pic, "select" tumbnail
"publish" bla bla bla it just takes to much time when you have 200 pics to upload every second day.

Some of you might know the Front page 2003 Gallery
you can upload 100 pics and the gallery itself creates the tumbnails for you.
The whole proces takes about 10sec
but with AcoGallery you must post one by one.

So anyone any patches sugestions upgrade will help

Thank's

I'd love to have something like this. I've tried three or four separate gallery components and am not totally happy with any yet. Even though my main pages will stay MOS I may have to do a subnet and put my photos in there using frontpage. I'd love to see a MOS gallery that could funtion the same.

Disk Re: AkoGallery question?

You might want tot try RSGallery. It is much improved and has a very nice ZIP-file upload Wizard. It lets you upload a ZIP-file, presenting you with all the pics inside it. From there you can choose what to delete or install and select per image tha categorie.
You can find it at http://www.webdreamers.nl

Good luck,

Ronald

i must say that rsgallery beta5 looks pretty good and works pretty well. for those who were disappointed about beta4, try the 5!

sadly rsgallery still misses out on more than one level of navigation, so if you f.e. want to put picture from more years one, you're wrong here.

arthur wanted to release some new version of akogallery in march. didn't hear about that one yet..
actually brandon kerns inserted some batch upload, which worked pretty well on my server.

a pretty few mentioned gallerysystem is z00mgaller (http://zoom.ummgumma.nl), you might also want to check out that one.. gets better and better every release!

lately i heard about some new gallery by menalto mambo-component. didn't get my hands on that one yet, but i'm not really a fan of menalto's gallery system either..

hope that one cleared it up a little..

bye,
remedy

RS Gallery beta 5 is the gallery I am currently using. I like it but it doesn't seem to have sub-categories (or the ability to have separate albums under a single category), or at least not that I could find. If it ever does, I will like it a lot.

I had a Xoops site with a Coppermine port called xcGallery. That was pretty sweet. Wish Mambo had something like that. Even a 4images port would be wonderful.

Im beginning to like what I see with the zOOm gallery. I find my customers love the drag and drop feature. I have not done any batch uploads but for quick resizing and thumbnail creation you cant beat the MGM gallery component. Just add your images to a separate folder using the Media Manager and let MGM process them. It will create the thumbs and resize the originals to fit within predefined limits.

zOOM also has a batch process but I have not tested it and I dont think its ready for primetime, either.

I used AKO at http://www.theiles.net/ and I used zOOm at http://www.earthdayfoundation.org/. Still looking for that one killer app for galleries, tho.
