Mambo and Custom php pages?

I am relatively new to Mambo and was wondering if you could answer a quick question for me. I have always coded custom php websites in the past, but I really like the flexibility and ease of publishing that comes with mambo. My question is: Is there any way to write "custom" php pages and have them integrated into the skinable mambo "look and feel"?

For instance, if I wanted to write a simple SQL/php page to write out the names of all registered users for everyone to see, how would I do that? Is it even possible? or should I go ahead and bite the bullet and learn how to write components?

What are some good resources (tutorials) to get me started on writing components, just in case...

yes, there is a mambot that allows you to do just that
AddPHPBot or mosaddphp, try a search on these (mosforge..)

ok, I downloaded and "installed" mosaddphp, but I can't figure out how to get it to work. I can't find any documentation on it anywhere. Could someone please give me a hand?
