Miro is the company that sells Mambo CMS.

Several years ago Miro developed Mambo as an Open Source project.
Seeing the potential to sell it commercially, they decided to 'donate' Mambo as it was at that time to the community to continue as an open source development.

Mire continued on their own and have a product which is loosely similar to Mambo but has been designed totally seperately since the split.

Mambo OS was taken over by Robert and he got a group toegether and developed Mambo OS to where it is right now.

As far I know the two systems are incompatible and you cannot use componets/modules/templates made for one, with the other.

Which is better? Well I guess it depends on what your after. And since few have bought Mambo CMS and shared their thoughts on it, no real way of knowing. If you like mambo os but want a commercially supported product than it may be the way to go.

The one advantage of Miro's Mambo CMS is that they have dedicated programmers whose job is to develop their program.
