If you use SEF, HTMLArea3 and SolarFlare, this will help:

Quote:
The problem occurs when the mambo site is using HTMLArea3, SEF's, and certian templates such as the solarflare template!

You can either stop using the HTMLArea editor or you can move the following code to line 41 of your solarflare index.php file:

<?php mosShowHead(); ?>

This will place it above the meta http-equiv tag.

I am sure this change will work on other templates that have this issue but that shoudl be close to exact on the solarflare template.

I have tried this, I asked my users to do the following:

Quote:
All you have to do is go to your Tools Menu, Click on Internet Options, then navigate to the Privacy Tab. Under the Privacy Tab you will find a button reading Advanced, click on it and then check the Override Automatic Cookie Handling Option. After that choose however you would like IE to handle cookies and then click on O.K.
Hope it works for you , just as well as it works for me. Aight peace out!

However, I can't locate class/mambo.php from root and sub-directories?

Any suggestion pls?
In 4.5.1 mambo.php is in the includes directory.

Hi Muhaha, your solution didn't work..I'm using 4.5.1 and mambo.php appears in includes folder here.

Also, the problem appears on both IE and Firefox; so maybe it is something other than cookie sessions?

Have also reinstalled mambo but still same problem.

What else can I try? Doesn't seem to be a solution on mambers.com.

Paul, Navstar, Jure - your solutions don't work either in rectifying the login problem.

An update....

I just found out that others are able to log into the site, ie User Menu shows up! I'm using Win 98.

A friend using Win 2000 Pro had no probs. As I have 2 connected pcs on a LAN - the other being Win 2000 Pro too, I decided to check the site on that and it had the same darn problem - can't login / show User Menu!

Anyone have any ideas what is going on? I see my Mambo 4.5 sites perfectly well. My IE security setting is also set to the lowest possible so cookies should be allowed. What else can I look at?

Thnx

Hello there

I'm using phpshop 1.1 with mambo 4.5.0 1.0.9
and IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158 / Windows XP Pro

After registering a shop user, the next page doesn't show up on InternetExplorer although the user is added. But I also cannot login with a registered user.

With Firefox 1.0 everything works perfectly

Has someone already solved this problem?

We have had this problem with Mambo since ever...
With different installs of Mambo (4.5.1 4.5.1a ...)

Works on some machines with IExplorer, some not,
FF and Mozilla ok

I think I've read/tried everything in almost ALL mambo forums...

<?php mosShowHead(); ?>
sessioncookie
P3P line
...
whatever, nothing does it.

I had more or less the same problem with another cms (phpwcms) the developper fixed it (thanks O. Georgi !). It had to do with the time stamp or cookie, I don't know, I'm not a PHP/MYSQL guru.

I think if Mambo does'nt fix this, I'll stop using it, bad publicity + mamboforge down almost all the time...

I was(still am actually) excited by this CMS, not so much more...
It is a BIG issue. Picture this:you show everything works fine on your PC (or a PC in your company) and then go to see your client and doesn't work. Conclusion: you look like a charlatan. Bad publicity; bad bad bad...

I can only hope the MAMBO PEOPLE are aware of this MAJOR BUG. Explorer isn't maybe the best browser BUT it it by far the most used, we as "technicians" can use and install Firefox, but how do you explain/install for the people who have to use it? Sometimes they can even install a damn thing on their machine because the sysadmin prohibits it.
Again: bad bad bad.

I know hoping for a solution standing won't fix it, but as I said I have spend several months looking for the solution, NADA, NOTHING, ZIP

Ok, I'll stop complaining here if someone has the solution, I'm still here to give admin/acces or whatever; disk space, progs, money, thanks, love, eternal love, my wife/sister, you name it...

I agree, I can't believe that after all this time the Mambo development team (does it actually exist by the way????) has done nothing about this major bug. I have given up on it to be honest.
