Default Email is not working

Hi,
I have set to allow recieving email, but still didnt get the email at all.
Not only that, even "forget password" feature has some bugs i think, because it didnt send the new password to me even I set "Email New User Password: Yes". Pls help.

Firstly check to see if your host allows you to send unauthenticated emails.

Some hosts do not allow you to do this.

4.5.1+ of Mambo allows you to set up SMTP authentication.

Hi guys

I am having a similiar problem to the one you have discussed here. Using mambo 4.5 1.0.9 (spider) stable.

Everything has been working fine until this week when i am having the same problems with sending out emails. This is a problem with the registration login email and also the recommend us module.

I have read various threads on this board and others. A temporary solution is to remove the email password option from the backend config site so users can enter their own passwords, however i am really looking to find out why this change has occured and if there are any fix's to it.

I will be speaking to my hosting company but wanted to make sure i havnt missed an easy fix.

Any suggestions would be warmly welcomed
