Default Adding FTP'd images directly to content

Hello,

I have an issue that I hope someone out there has come accross and can offer a simple solution to. I have FTP’d reduced sized thumbnails of my images to a directory where I can include them directly in my content.

Here’s the problem

I have FTP’d 21 pictures to a directory under the images directory, something like this /images/stories/archive/hikingpics/*.jpg

When I go to the content item and click on the picture frame icon to add the graphic. I only get about 9 of the 21 images in the viewer. They are shown in Figure 1.. The order in which they appear in the viewer is shown in the first column,

There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why some of these pictures appear and some of them do not. In addition. I have 9 directories in total with about 10 to 20 pictures each. In some of the directories none of the pictures show in the viewer see Figure 2

If I move these files to a directory directly under stories I can see them all and incude at least one of them as the lead picture of my story by using the images tab.

I have looked at it every which way based on file sizes, permissions, naming conventions, but none of it makes sense. I am suspecting there is a problem with the viewer. The permission of the top level directory is set to 755

I prefer this method of showing my pictures because it is faster than cataloging my photos and the user can see the full (reduced) picture with less clicks. I have loaded AKO gallery and am testing it incase there is no simple solution.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

If there is something simple that I have overlooked please let me know.

Therese
