After I upgraded my version of mambo to the newest version I began to have small problems. One of these problems is when I enter the index of the page it displays the message "The page you are trying to access does not exist.
Please select a page from the main menu.".

Even when select home from my main menu it displays that message. I think the frontpage is fine however home has a problem. I've tried putting other things in front of the home.. I've made News first in the ordering which was fine. I clicked on home again and still it displayed the ever so annoying message.


Please any help would be appreciated.

Have you correctly cmod all your files and folders as per the instruction given at the time of installation?

the first item in your main menu must be a link to your homepage.

with your "news" section as your first link, it won't work. it even says it in small text with a * at the bottom of the mainmenu item in the backend.

True.. Hmm someone suggested changing the permissions to access components with the ftp software. Does anyone know how to go on doing such a thing?

get FlashFXP, login to your site, right click on the file/folder. and choose the CHMOD command(its near the bottom of the dialogue window), change up the permissions, check the box that says something like "apply to all subfolders and files" then hit ok.

i'm not on a windows machine right now so i can't check it out, this is from memory.
