Question How to move users from one site to another?

Hello,

I'm running my Mambo 4.5.2. site on a Windows 2003/IIS 6 server at home. Now I have decided to move the site to a professional hosting platform, but this server is running on Linux. I have tried to move the whole site from the W2003 server to the Linux server, but this did not work so I decided to create the whole site from scratch.

This is working fine, but there is one thing I want to migrate from the Windows site to the Linux site: the users. Can somebody tell my which tables I have to export from the Windows 2003 server and import on the Linux server? It would be a shame when users have to register again at my website.

TIA for your information!

Back up your mos_users table and move that. Everything should work.

mos_users is where all your user information is stored.

Thank you very much. Tried this and in PHPMYADMIN I can see all the user records. BUT.... I cannot see them when opening the user manager in the backend of the new Mambo installation.

Any Idea what this can be?

the first thought that comes to mind is you upgraded your site maybe from 4.5.2 to 4.5.2.1, this could be it. i'm not entirely sure,

We had an issue where we lost our mos_users table so we ended up re-creating every account, yes it takes a while but it can be done. although you should be able to have it work. Have you searched around to see what other people have done? Maybe not only on mambers.com but maybe forum.mamboserver.com too?
