Default Frontpage problem after moving Mambo to new folder

Hi,

I don't know if this is the right place for this, but here goes.

I've set up a 4.5.2 test version of Mambo in a test-folder under a working version of 4.5 and everything has been working a-okay so far. Today I then decided to move the test site, which has been working great, to the root directory and delete the old site. I have backups of everything, so resetting the whole deal will not be a problem.

The problem I've encountered now is after I moved the test-site, everything looks okay on the frontpage. But none of the links on the frontpage work. I can access everything from the backend, but whenever I click on a frontpage item or a link, I get a 404 page in response. I changed the configuration.php and I've checked through the database, looking for references to the test-site and haven't found any.

Does anybody know what the problem is and what I can do to rectify it?

Thanks in advance,
Cathy

P.S. Just in case you wanna take a look...

P.P.S. Maybe I should mention that the test-site's database entries are not called mos_. I can't see that this should be the problem, though, since it's worked fine before.

You have SEF enabled and have not renamed your htaccess file.

Ok got the same problem here after moving my install a folder up
htaccess.txt was already renamed to .htaccess and still is.

But the error doesnt go away!

oops... my .htaccess file is empty... is this ok???

-- disabled seo and thing ere ok, but enabling seo returns the same error

Have to work now for a week in a different country, but will read this and hopefully fix this next week.

Thanks for the info if there is any

-- update hahaha i disabled seo and then deletet the .htaccess file on the server... then i re uploaded the htaccess.txt again and renamed it to .htaccess... enabled seo and it worked...

Curious what i did wrong with the first file....
