Default Installation problem

Hello,

I've got an installation problem that i cannot solve. I've uploaded all the files to my server (with file checking turned on in the FTP program), then i've created the database, ran the installation program via the web, everything worked and no errors logs in the installation program, then it comes up with final installation screen which gives me the choice of "view site" or "admin" (something like that anyway).

I've done this twice and have picked both choices but i still get the following error when trying to view my site:

-------------------
[my domain name]
This site is temporarily unavailable.
Please notify the System Administrator
2,
---------------------

The admin works fine and i am able to save changes. I've checked the global config settign to see if the site was online. The default install says "yes". But I still get the above error when trying to view the site. I change this setting to make the site offline and then i get normal "site offline - maintenance" error. I change this setting back to the default, ie to put the site online, and then i get the above error again.

This is not my first Mambo site and my previous one worked perfectly on the first install and is working fine and is solid. I've had no problems with that install. This installation is on a different server but with the same ISP and the database is working fine.

So any ideas - what is wrong and how can i fix it?

Thanks

No - that is not correct. If you do not delete the installation folder you get a different error message telling you to delete it.

FWIW i am still getting the error that i reported and i am puzzled as to why.

Any ideas?
