Default Drop down menu component...

i did a search and couldn't come up w/ this , and i figure it isn't something to hard.

All i want is to have a drop down menu that will then have whoever clicks on it open a page just like as if it were a regular click on a menu items.

so in real life basically i want to have a list of about 30 sport teams in a menu alphabetically, when the team is clicked, that teams main page is opened in my website. i'm not worried about the linking of the teams, we have that covered, i just need the actual drop down menu.

no it isn't.

It isn't a module either.

Try these:
http://mamboforge.net/projects/displaymenu/
http://mamboforge.net/projects/dtree/
http://mamboforge.net/projects/swmenu/
http://mamboforge.net/projects/treemenu/
http://mamboforge.net/projects/infinity-menus/
http://mamboforge.net/projects/flashmenu/

For me, I use the standard main menu that comes with mambo.. I heavily outfit it with CSS and if I need a submenu, I just make one. You could use a submenu that lists all of the teams.. the submenu could be configured to only display when you clicked on "teams" (the parent menu itme) for instance...

In any case, you have lots of choices above.. let us know how you did it!

Hi,
I would like to make a menu like the one of mamboportal

Does somebody know how to put the submenues like that? I think there might be a way using only css, but couldn't find it yet.

Not sure which menu system he used but it appears to be one of the dynamic ones (tigra, dtree, jcok?) with a submenu. The menu is heavily controlled via css. No images..

I know I wasn't too helpful there. I have a project coming up where I will be wanting that type of menu structure so I will keep you in mind. Have you tried looking through the billions of templates to see if any of them have a similar menu (seems to me some do) and hack it into your own template?

lol Yes I did!!
I found one called "apple", it is for 4.5 and it actually goes to the database...

And there are a couple for sale with the same structure. See HERE I don't see why one can define the structure of the submenues of the main menu from the css and can't do it in the top menu. It doesn't make any sense.

If it is done, it can be done. It is only a matter of time...

I found one called "apple.com". The submenus are "different" that the main menus.

The main menu has a class="mainlevel"
the submenus have a class="sublevel"

Adjust the CSS from there. Give it a shot, show your progress and I will help you if you get stuck.
