Question htmlarea2 - different base directories for front end and back end?

Can someone help please?

I have set up a site for our homeowners association so that members (registered users) can have their own blogs to chronicle home improvements, renovations, etc. and upload photos of their projects. I am using the excellent community builder component for this functionality.

I am using htmlarea2 as the editor. On the back end (admin side) things are fine.
On the front end the registered users can browse the same directories the admin can and can also create folders. I want to limit them to one folder where they can create a personal image folder and upload their photos, but not browse the other folders.

So what I need is for the base directory for registered users to be different so that I can limit where they can browse and write folders to.

Can someone post code that could do this? If I need to switch wysiwyg editors that is fine too as long as the editor works well with different browsers (IE, Mozilla, Mac)

Thanks!
